hard to imagine how that rotates without shaft motion.. I dont doubt it does of course, its just hard to imagine. :)

I printed up a pair, the meshing is not great, though I'll blame that on the print quality for now.  ... I'll probably print some more and see if I can make a working bevel gear turntable.

Im not so sure Id call those non-circular bevels.. its almost as if they need their own term....

Yeah, there's a nice visual effect when using smooth curves instead of chevrons.  I tend to call them 'macaroon gears' because of the way they look when the pitch angle is small.

I revised it with less eccentricity, lower pitch, and larger pressure angle to mitigate print quality issues, and also fixed a rounding bug.  Now I have some gears that actually mesh.
