Always Net for me, yeah about every second or so you get a knock is what I'm experiencing, feels like a reverse direction pulse while going the opposite direction, works fine in Pokey V3.1.68b., not so good in Auggie or all other previous versions of Pokey.. No switches hooked up here yet.. No counts on time anomalies in Auggie, no errors in pokey or Auggie error log either????
Cheers
Bob

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
after up date of pokeys and auggie, usb, still can't get ethernet working it's a win10 problem something missing, I will ask the pokeys people about it. the other question give me a couple of hours I will get back to you

Going to check if charge pump could cause this?

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
found the problem at my end I turned on all 8 axis's so I could do the spindle. set it back to 3 axis it came right, it might be what you need to do Bob only have axis amount set to what's connected.
this may be a problem when it comes to setting up the spindle,we may not be able to set up the spindle through the G540.
Art it running better jerk is set at 100 works good set to 100

Dan:
Interesting, Bob seems to have the reverse problem, he only has the 3axis engine, and it knocks every second.
If you have a 57cnc, the 8 axis engine should be used, its much more powerful, and used 1/2F pulse width, which is very good at noise reduction.
Bob is going to test if the G540 is simply failing because it doesn't have a charge pump turned on or something..
100 is a very very low jerk. I run mine at 50,000, BUT, every system will be different based on how much accel you turn on, the more accel you have turned on, the lower the jerk setting will tend to be. You may want to decrease your accel a bit, and increase your jerk as well....
experiment a bit, the sweet spot for each system is different, you'll probably find many sweet spots, just need to pick the one that's best..

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
it is at max for speed, accel (it could go higher) is about right, I am going to get M4 going then turn the 8 axis back on to see if it is the G540 or auggie or pokeys not communicating properly, when I was play yesterday I had to keep turning the power on and off to get auggie to realize something is different in the pokeys settings.
need to see if it's a bug in auggie making the axis's go bad, if it goes bad in M4 it's the G540, if not it's pokeys or auggie, only way I can think of testing this idea.

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
Hi guys;
Sorry for the delay, lots going on for me today. Anyhow connecting the charge pump did not fix my knocking problem using the pokey, also tried going back in Mach3 and stretching the pulse from 0 to 15us long, saw no difference at all in performance? I think maybe its time to try the Pokey 57cnc, if it doesn't work with my G540 then I will exchange my old G540 with newer motor controllers.
Cheers

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
Dans Idea is a good one, see if Mach3 runs it with the pokeys plugin..
Interesting test and would show if its something in auggie thats only showing up on some computers..

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
Bob you can get new mother boards for the G540 I would ask if that would bring yours up to the newest version first a bit cheaper. I tried getting M4 to work, it's to unstable, doing M3 now
Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
right M3 set to external4 works fine, auggie external 4 bad 3 good, could not get more than 4 in M3.
with the new update auggie is picking up changes to pokeys fast, no need to turn power on or off, good that's fixed.
I am going to try doing the code for the spindle now.

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
Dan:
Thats really Odd. Bob has trouble with internal engine, you with external.
Id really love to know what it is about a g540 thats particular. However, it may be the computer
and how it reacts to auggie as well, only more testing and users will tell me that.
Its much faster now, updates quite quickly, but , it is possible graphics for example may be a bottleneck.
Do me a favour sometime while testing, select "editmode" in the config, click on the toolpath
and delete it. ( Dont answer yes to "save screen?" questions from then no. but run the motors, jog and so on,
let me know if having no tool-path fixes it. It would eliminate the tool-path graphics from the equation..
Also, try to select a low enough jog speed that your not all the time in accel, and hold the jog steady
to see if its shifting frequencies doing it, or if a steady frequency does it.
Check the log after all this for any messages that say "Bog Report". By the way, the log is turned off
after startup, you must check the log button now to start it recording for any session.
Thx

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
I will do it now I am in no mood to do code writing, I am having a fight over a problem with the M3 fusion 360 pp that they can't see is a problem what stands out like dogs ball, no it all twats
Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540
no tool path screen made no change, slowed everything down just went slow nice motor graph or what ever you call it same with fast looks good.
tried 4 axis with no tool path no change. shit
nothing bad in log.
internal 3 axis does not work for me at all, that could be bobs problem he may need to use external.
found a bug running road runner with no tool path screen it crashes Auggie half way through the G code.
that's all I will do some more playing tonight, if I find anything you will see it in the morning

Thanks Dan:
Always appreciate the tests, Bobs is the 57E, so he has no external, just internal 3 axis..
