Hi:
Awesome video, it looks like the involutes cure a lot of ills. I like what you've done, and I'm one of a very few who can appreciate
the hassle you had in learning the way the pressure angles affect the ellipticals and such. Its nice to see someone younger than 60
ready to take on the gear world. :) As a one guy shop myself I appreciate all your hard work , it brings back a lot of memories ..
I look forward to the update,

Gearify
Re: Gearify
Hello all,
I got Gearify 2.0 a couple of years ago but only recently got a round to working with it. My version seems slightly older than the version in the very helpful Youtube tutorials so I tried to go to the website to download the latest version. However the website seems to be gone. Does anyone know if Gearify 2.0 is still available and where it can be found?
Thanks!

Dave:
It seems that the website is dead. I know the author was working on a new financial model to
keep it running, but its been awhile since I was in touch with him. I know that software such as
Gearotic and Gearify are hard to monetize in any meaningful way these days, its a very limited
audience.
For me its been a hobby, the sales of Gearotic basically keep its lights on in terms of website,
security certificates and such, so its never really had to pay for programming time. Hopefully,
Gearify is just on a rebuild, but it may be gone , its hard to say.
Niche software is very hard to support, your either quite successful , or your gone. Its
typically a labor of love or you just cant afford to do it. Luckily I had Mach3 as my first
project, a true labor of love, and that gave me the freedom to do what I want, so Gearotic
has lasted for 14 years or so, but you could never make a living from it. Im retired, the
author of Gearify has a real job. It can be a very hard balance.
I wish him well and hope we see it reappear, it truly did become a wonderful program.
Gearotic will be around for at least 2 more years if nothing changes, I've renewed
for this year, and will most probably do so next year as well. My research these days
in in Ai, so not much will make it to Gearotic unless I have some weird idea of mixing
the two. The internals of Ai are fascinating on so many levels.
Long answer I know, but things have been slow here with all that's going on
in the world, so I figured Id answer long so you all know Im still alive. :)
Best regards to all,
Art
