Inlay done with Auggie, Vexx and Gearotic CAD

Post by BobL »

Hi;

Here's the result of a few inlay test examples we come up with over the last few weeks, results are pretty good in my opinion. Thought I'd share with everyone to see.

Cheers

The Zebra inlay is very nice. Maybe when I grow up I will be able to do it as nicely as you have.

Mike:

  Before you get the idea we dealt with tweezers and lots of parts, heres how the Zebra was made.

1) Engrave B&W photo of zebras into wood. 12 minutes.
2) Flip and reverse image and burn into a piece if 1mm veneer to 3/4mm deep ( picture shows result).
3) Apply glue and push veneer into wood. Let dry.
4) Sand away 1/4mm of veneer.

:)
