I will do a cut vid next week, I still have to do the circuit for 3.3 to 5 that GlennD did. I might machine that out if I can work out how to do that in fusion, I will have to start on the pp for that.

Re: getting the 57cnc to work with G540

Post by ArtF »

Just to close this thread, the G540 is found to work fine with Auggie, any problems turned out
to be software issues with slower computers. The Network Delay option in setup being set to 0
on slow systems fixes this problem, the G540 itself is not and was not an issue. If one wishes
to drive a G540, the easiest way is the USB->DB25 convertor I mentioned today in the
Auggie thread (PoKeys57-DB) which will allow an instant conversion of a G540 Mach3 driven machine
to Auggie and Mach3/4 under USB at 115Khz.

Thx

yes you are correct art, the G540 is a good to go with Auggie if you let it set its self and read the instructions. do you wont me to do a write up at the end on how it is all connected, I have been doing my Charity work so have not been back at it yet

Anytime Dan, more info in better than less. :)

One last note though, we tested a PokeysDB25 this week, and Auggie failed to run it
and crashed, we did find the problem though and next version will run fine.

Thx to YaNvrNo ( db25 serial #7 or so.. lol ), for his db25 testing.

Dan:

Should be as of last version.  Ill probably release a new version tomorrow that fixes the imaging
output as well as several other stability bugs. It also fixes the calling order of all M calls

M30 still fails.

Auggie is very stable being on the net at the same time as running the machine it's a no no but is a good test, spindle control is within 220 rpm

Dan:

Thx, tomorrows release should fix it then. As to Net, probably dependent on machine.

I burned images today while reading EMail and transferring images from my phone on USB.

Make sure you try "Network Delay = 0" in the planner config if you experience any stuttering.

Hi Art,

I'm getting some strange behavior when I open the new version (1.45). Installs as usual, but when I start it, it hangs after the sliding splash screen. Auggie icon is in the task bar. Auggie gui doesn't load. If you ckick on the Auggie Icon in the taskbar, the Auggie Gui appears(after a delay), but the components are all scrambled about. If you change screens(default for example), that loads fine, and if you switch back to the Pockeys screen, that works fine (and seems to work fine in simulation). I opened the log file, but seems to be some sort of infinite loop thing, as the log file crashes my text editor. Couldn't copy and paste from the editor,as it was hanging, so took following screenshot of the file. Happen all over again, on each Auggie startup. I tried rolling back one version, and it still happened ???

Maynard:

Sorry about that, I probably hosed the simulator, Ill check it right way and let you know..
it looks like your going into simulation and its crashing it or looping it.

(I take it this IS without a Pokeys? )

Thx

Maynard:

Just uploaded a version with the simulator incapable of generating that error.

Give it another shot. If it fails, try removing your script folder just in case,
Ive tested the one I released on 2 machines with no pokeys and both worked fine,
I'm suspecting maybe I changed something in the script interface perhaps..

Thx

I was in simulation, but also hung with Pokeys, but with slightly different behavior.
Tried new version, but same results.

Removed script directory and loads fine. Jogs a stepper connected with Pokeys using the PokeysMotion screen. I have a bunch of custom scripts. Perhaps you've changed some API's along the way. I haven't updated Auggie for a few weeks, so it could go back a bit.

Thanks
Maynard
