Version 2.298 online.

Post by ArtF »

Hi All:

2.298 is online, it increases the accuracy of the STL's in photometrics. It also adds an ambient ligth cancelation
( which can help but its not a miracle worker), and a control to turn the pedestal for 3d printing on or off.

This also corrects a serious error with the mesh. Some find after updateing lately that it didnt update, make sure
the help/about reads 2.298, otherise log out of windows , back in, and reinstall.

Thx

Hi Art

I downloaded 2.298.  I've tried 2 scans and output 2 stl files without any problems.  I will be 3D printing at least one file tomorrow, I can hardly wait to see the output. I am using an Acer laptop, 32bit Win 7 OS with 4gig ram and the builtin webcam.

  Congrads!  Enjoy your summer break!

Hello Art, Stereo Photometric can not find my webcam (Logitech Pro 9000).
I've tried to reinstall drivers but still cant find the camera.
The camera works well in Logitech's own program.
Any suggestions to try or is it better to get a Microsoft camera?

Best regards

Hi Christer:

As of yet, Im not sure. I know many camera show up, many do not .. Im still trying to figure out why.
It may be drivers, or codecs.. Id try installing a codec pack , that may help. Over time I may find
a solution, but the video interface is still kinda new to me as yet..

Thanks Art, no problem, I understand that it takes time to find problems now in the beginning.
I remember all the work you have with Master5 and Mach3  :)
Photometric stereo is an amazing module that I believe many will benefit greatly from in the future  :)

Ok her is a photo of my first 3D printed stereo photometric part.  It is a little disappointing in the definition.  This may be caused by the small size or the quality of the subject.  I made it approximately 2" x 2". It does however look a lot like the stereo photometric image.

Hi All:

A question to those with camera problems. If your camera name is blank, is any error shown or entry like "No camera" in the selector?

Thx

Oh.. one other question. If your camera selector is blank.. does the config button do anything , does the
camera brightness and such show up if the unknown camera is selected and then config is pressed?

Thx

Hi Art,
Win 7 pro, 64 bit, Microsoft LifeCam Model 1393, latest drivers

Camera shows up, the resolution selection is blank, defaults to 640x480.

Version 2.2982 is online with better camera selection code. Id be interested if it helps in anyones system.
I tested this with 2 camera's installed, and could choose between the two with various resolutions.

Haven't yet downloaded the latest version, however, once the Microsoft LifeCam software was downloaded and installed (today) the resolution choices are now available in Gearotic.

This Microsoft LifeCam software was shown as available with the automated MS Windows updates and then selected to download.
