Sorry Art...I don't understand your posting..."teckl?"..."GM?"ArtF wrote: Remember too, you can just telkl Gearotic to print the gears for glueing to a panel for cutting, GM will
print at a 1:1 ratio so the size is correct.

Hi Roger:
I type faster than I should.. lol
The text should have said..
"Remember too, you can just tell Gearotic to print the gears for glueing to a panel for cutting, GM will ..."
Gearotics printing module is set to print to exact size for just such work..

Re: Welcome to Tickers..
Can you give the pertinent info you used to tap the wood pieces for set screws on Scimitar?...set screw thread count (10-32, 4-10, etc.), set screw length, drill bit size, tap bit size, etc. Do you know if the same info works for Baltic Birch plywood as well as hardwood?
Thanks

Re: Welcome to Tickers..
Hi Roger:
You give me far too much credit. I just reach in my pile, grab whatever screws I have and drill and screw them in,
I didnt tap or plan much. Grabed setscrews about 1/8" and screwed them in a hole just smaller.. My tickers are a
mix of hardwood and baltic birch, havent had any troubles with strength of fit or anything.. Im more of a by the seat of my arse
builder, I grab what looks good and fit it in... :)

Re: Welcome to Tickers..
Just finished Scimitar added a custom weight and handle, used a scroll saw and few other wood working equipment, Thanks Art for your YouTube video sure helped to
understand how everything works... and you are right in the fact you have to just wait til you have all the parts cut before trying to put it together such as the length of
the brass rods, springs have had a lot of great comments on it hang in the living room. I'm planning on learning more about Gearotic create more art with the program.
I put together a short video that I published to YouTube http://youtu.be/i6nM16GaAcA

Thanks Everyone it means a great deal to me among my peers
Re: Welcome to Tickers..
Hi John:
The Gcode wasnt there because I figured most woudl use their own tool diamters, depths, materials etc.. so its hard to simply say "HEres the Gcode."
That having been said though.. can I help in getting it generated ? Which gear?

Re: Welcome to Tickers..
Do I have the right scimitar drawing? The ones I have were downloaded from the tutorial video. The reason I ask is because the drawings I d/led doesn't show the hole location for the brass pin in the gear for the pawl. Similarly the drawing doesn't show the holes in the trigger arm. Also there is no drawing of the right angle piece on the trigger arm.
I guess I can figure the above out but want to make sure that the dxf files dated 12-8-2013 are the correct drawings before I go too much further.

Re: Welcome to Tickers..
Hi Dan:
Havent looked in quite awhile, but the original dxf's and project are the ones in the first messages of this forum, there were a couepl updates early on in the messages. Some of the parts were not shown as it was better to place them as you build them, ( which is typically what I do which is why they dont show.).
Yell if you feel anything important is missing though, I always have lots of bits and pieces laying here that I can dig through...
