Ok had another go restarted everything and got it to work sort of, it is 2.5 module 16 teeth should the cutter go to 5.6mm depth for the first cut? I had the speed set at 5100 and the feed at 150 mm/min and it broke the cutter, before I played with it it was going to 10mm z depth? Its probably something stupid I am doing, I have the latest version also.

I know where the 10mm Z depth came from, the default setting was this for cut per pass, and I missed it! So I started cutting a spur gear and was having a great time with the feed at 100mm/min just a bit slow, I gradually increased the feed up to 200mm/min and things were going great until the worm on the 4th Axis came out of mesh! So I have half a gear now, anyway that is how you learn how to do these things I am out of small cutters now so I will do a couple of larger tooth gears for practice instead.
