Hi everyone.
I am a newbie to this forum, I have been using mach3 for a while and very excited about Gearotic.

I downloade d and installed gearotic but when I ran the program I got the message " Gearotic is behaving suspiciou sly and has been removed by Norton".

There was no option to accept the program.

Just wondering if anyone has any sugestion as to any settings I can change?

My Mach3 computer is stand alone (Mach3 only) with no internet connectio n or anti virus software, so I guess I could load Gearotic onto that but I don't want to do anything that may effect that computer and disrupt Mach3. Is there any risk I will upset Mach3 using geatotic on the same computer?

Thanks for any help.

Hi:

From what I have read, the problem is in Norton Sonar module, it can be turned off to allow it by telling Norton
tat Gearotic is trusted. Youd have to check Norton for how to do that as I dont use Norton. Its a false reading by Norton,
it has been discussed with them. They are willing to remove that error, but they require a signature for every version
that comes out, some thing way to onnerous for me to do, nor something I figure I should have to do.. when programme rs
have to beg virus ocmpanies for an OK..no-one is safe. Smiley

Nigel;

You may use Gearotic software on your Mach3 stand alone computer, in fact they go hand in hand. I also suggest you contact Norton about it's action, in fact the more people do, the more likely they will do something about it. As Art mentioned, we looked into it, but the signature thing for every version is out of reach for us at the moment.

Cheers

Hi Art/Bob
Thanks for your replies.
For now I will just put Gearotic on my Mach computer and I will raise the issue with Norton.

Prvevious ly I have had messages from Norton like "Do you trust this software" but this time no options.
I don't what to mess with Norton to much as I am not realy that confident with computers .

Anyway, looking forward to experimen ting with Gearotic.
