So this bug is really the result of doing something you shouldn't do but I did it and then Gearotic went a bit nuts and you can't place gears anymore until you restart the program. I've replicate d this with the current stable release and with the new 4.610 release also.

To replicate .
1) Start Gearotic with an empty project
2) Go to Spur Gears
3) Click Create Wheel
4) Accept defaults
5) Go to Spur Gears
6) Click Create Pinion
7) Accept defaults
Cool Rather than placing the pinion gear right click on the existing gear in the Project Database panel and click Delete Train
9) Observe error "Missing Shaft.Con tact Art." Click Ok.
10) Click in the main view window, Observe that a gear starts flashing around the screen and the applicati on becomes less responsiv e.
11) Attemptin g to close the current project and start a new one will not resolve the issue. You will not be able to place any gears until the program is restarted .

I ran across this when trying out Gearotic for the first time and I was playing with what different gears looked like. I had placed one but forgot to delete it after looking at it before creating a new gear to look at so when I went to place my newly created gear I first tried to delete the existing one before actually placing the new one.

Anyway, the short answer is don't try and delete your gear train when placing new gears.

Yes, GM can definitel y be fooled if you try hard enough. ( Sometimes you dont even have to try hard..)

Thx for that report though, I'll see if I can add a safety in there to stop that.
