Can plating be switched off so it doesn't show in the project window.

I'm designing a vintage race car gearbox and two skimpy bits of brass won't hold this together  Tongue

 Yes, just click in front of the plateing word .. the plates will all turn off..Or enter a zero int he Plate box width or height..

   So the plates remain even if turned off? ( I see they indicate their off..) Is that what Im seeing?
