Ditto..Aw esome!  That's an interesti ng asteroida l nozzle. I'm guessing has to do with temperatu re control. It looks like insulatio n used to contain the heat for accurate sensing.

I can increase the speed quite a bit. Right now I Have Mach3 velocity set at 900 but previousl y had it up to 1200. I tuned it back when I figured out that the calibrati on of the filamnet flow rate was incorrect . Now that I have calibrate d the extruder I need to go back and raise the axis velocity back up.
I think I can also go into Slic3r and increase the speed that it sets for the Gcode.

I read on the GenXlab blog about using your cnc machine as a 3d printer  that they recommend ed the Maker Gear stepper plastrude r. They said it was bullet proof . So far i have used a couple hundred feet of abs filament and found their recommend ation to be accurate. The heated element does have an insulatin g compound around .37mm  the noozle where a thermocou ple is embeded. That if followed by kapton tape and then two fiberglas s insulatio n boots. Work great.
