Hi, being a newbie here I had better introduce myself  Wink
I like to dabble with wood and being able to make something out of an inanimate substance and give it "life" fascinate s me and gives a great deal of satisfact ion. I have been making clocks designed by Clayton Boyer but I feel I have progresse d far enough now to start designing my own. So I am glad to have found Gearotics to give me that helping hand by doing the mind numbing calculati ons and let me see if a design is even possible.
I still have plenty of Clayton's to go as yet though and each one that has differing escapemen ts is great to construct to have the experienc e of it. Nothing like having hands-on to really understan d how these things work.

I am humbled to see that one of my clocks has already been posted here in a topic posted about electroma gnetic clocks by Bloy.
I have actually just changed that clock to use a Daisy Dial Train mechanism .
All my clocks can be seen on youtube just lookup "drewmansc locks"

If I can assist any one with their clockmaki ng feel free to pick my brains on my experienc e with the practical side of building. I am not great on the technical side and theories involved but I am only to happy to assist where I can  Cheesy

Hi Drew:

Welcome to the group. GM has been growing quite well since escapment s were released, so
I know many of our members are trying their hand at clocks. Its good to have someone who
has experienc e in that area. Ive only built a couple of them, but they are facinatin g things to make.
( they also seem to give a greater warm and fuzzy feeling on completio n :-) )
Your work is impressiv e, please show us anything you build, while Im no longer making clocks at
the moment due to an overwhelm ing amount of projects, I do draw inspirati on from the work of
others, ( much like a symbiotic parasite Smiley ) so dont feel any attempt is too small to share.

Likewise, if theres anything you need or you feel youd like to see a module added to the
program, kick in and let us know. The next developme nt season looks like a complex one with
many users wanting more complex types of gearing or mechanism s, but I shuffle the prioritie s
of what Ill do based on user feedback.

Again Welcome,
