Glad I purchased before Art saw this  Grin

Gear-Wheel Designer
with GCode Generator, Priced at US $338.13.
At least it isn't $339.99

I emailed the guy a few weeks back and asked if that was a joke and never got a reply.

Now I am not saying he should not get that much just that his market has to be razor thin.
My thinking is I'd rather sell four for a nickel then one for a dime.

That's a ripoff. When it first came out I bought a copy, it was about £25 or $40 ish.
For it's time [ pre Gearotic ] it was the best thing out there but no way has any upgrade made it worth that amount of dosh.

For a start it's unsupport ed and I believe if Art chips in Art also bought a copy, found loads of bugs in it which the guy wanted you to buy the upgrade to fix and this is why Gearotic came about.

Funny Story....

Yes, if thats the program I think, I too bought it. The dxf's were terrible and had lines crossing all over.
I went one day, looking for a bug fix.. I saw there was one, but it was $40.00 for the bug fix. I then decided to
write GM....I do not like being ripped off. Software should provide value. Bugs I expect, god knows I make a lot of them myself,
but I try not to, and I try to correct quickly when I can. I also dont charge for bugs.

A gear program will never pay for itself. I figure I make a couple dollars an hour for GM.. but thats OK, I love it, my users tend to as
well , and thats good enough for me. If it one day becomes a sucessful l business model, great, if not..grea t. Smiley

Same motto I had with Mach3.  CNC software of the day was out of my price range, was hard to use, and I decided to put my  code where my mouth was
and take over the market. Beware anyone that overcharg es me for software. . I may decide you dont deserve the market you have..no matter how small. Give me a year or so,
and I will replace you, and learn a lot myself..t hats always worth the effort..   LOL

LOL!!

Tell you what, you do that and I'll not only give you that market share, Ill advertise for you!

Seriously though, as long as a tapered bit is used, as far as I know the code generator works fine. ( numerical ly..).
I just havent ever reached a spot to test it. Nor have I seen anyone test it. But numerical ly speaking, theoretic ally,
in diagramat ic testing, and analytica lly...it works just fine to make bevels... Blanks... thats another matter..  Smiley
