Gcode output
«

Hello everybody, I joined this group a few days ago. As I am moving house, the contents of my workshop are still in boxes and I can not try out the generated code.
However, I intend to make smaller helical and bevelgear
s (module 1-3) and find the prospect of cutting with 1 mm endmills a bit daunting.
Would it be possible to generate the Gcode for doing the first -- major -- part of the cutting with a bigger endmill, change for a smaller endmill and then do the final cutting ?
regards, Maarten

The Gcode generator wont do it, but Ive seen some use a slit saw or other means to notch the
blank first.. You can set a very low perpass value so that the stress on the bit is lessened. But the code at this point will use only 1 tool. For Bevels, ( for which the code is untested ), the output is done only for a tapered endmill, so you better better strength, but it may be hard to find a taper thats
small enough for a module 1 gear.. hard to say..
