Is there a way to know in advance the maximum endmill diameter I can use for a certain gear to be cut using a cncrouter?

Thanks!

Hi PEU:

( Glad to see you were able to post. Smiley )

On the gear creation screen is a text labeled "Max Mill Diam" which for involutes is the largest mill usable. For other gear types the number may not be exact as its bot as easily quantifia ble.

Thanks Art for for fixing my (previous) problem and the reply of course Smiley

I think 10 minutes (600secs) is a tad too much for a pause between messages, this one for example I had to wait just to be able to post it.

Also, there is a bug, once you press the post button and the 600secs message appears, you can't edit the message you were typing, its the 5th time I copy-paste this message.

Now I see why I needed to ask... had to browse a gearotic screen image to see the differenc e with mine:
http://www.micro-machine-shop.com/gearotic_motion_clock_1.jpg

I don't see all the details in the gear screen, I just see the created gear alone, no text describin g it. When I go to the spur gears tab I receive a dialog that says: Failed secondary font loading. I guess something is missing from the install.

[edit] no, nothing is missing, Im using win7 (32bits sp1) and installed gearotic at \program files\gearotic instead of root as suggested by the installer (I do not install apps at root folder, silly me Smiley ) I configure d gearotic to run as administr ator and now I see the gear details.

I think gearotic is doing something wrong regarding user permissio ns. Bug or feature? Smiley

Pablo:

As yet, Im unsure why it does that. Win7 doesnt seem to allow a font to be loaded unless the manifest describes it or something, so you need to run as Admin in Win7 to see details. Im sure
Ill figure it out someday soon. Smiley
