Art, I figure you're now working on a gearbox to drive its wings Grin

Where are you getting the plans from?

LOL.. yes, its always nice to show off with a new toy.

Ive finished my exeprimen ts used to get used to it now though, and am designing a re-design of a HP1000 ink jet printer
to fit in a plexi cage that can be hung from a spindle plate to use as a usb controlle d 3d printer.

  I bought a new HP1000 ( 28.00 from walmart) ripped the guts totally out.. and am redesigni ng the printer to be what I need.
Christ knows if it will work, but its interesti ng to see if I can make this thing do what I want instead of what HP expected. Smiley

  Ill probably need some gearotic gears to make it work out as I have to move the feed motor to a new spot to create a box that
basically hangs there with the inkjet at the bottom of the cage as my solvent squirter. . Smiley , then Ill write some special software
blocks to allow control of 3d output from it.

 Ill post pics as I go for those that are intereste d on my 3d printer topic. These types of projects are good for GM as I get to do
tests in a work environme nt, find what pisses me off, and fix it before you guys get too pissed at the same type of things.

Dan:

  If you search for "3d puzzle" in google, youll find a german site that has several DXF's that make those objects from plywood or whatever. All you have to do is scale them to the material thickness by checking the width of the tabs and scaling so the tab width is the same as the material thickness . We had to scale up that eagle for 3mm plexi.. so it got pretty big. Impressiv e though.. Bob took it home to make a lamp from it.. I think he loves my laser more than I do. :-)

  That eagle takes about 20 bucks worth of plexiglas s. ( Likely about 2 bucks worth of 1/8th inch plywood. )

Your eagle is very impressiv e. Thanks for the tip on the plans.    I'll have to see what I can do in wood with a poor man's laser. Oops.   I mean router.

I am traveling so can only use my phone. Is this it?  It's kind of hard to see on this small screen.

Mark;

 Yes that's it..They have all kinds to pick from as dxf, fun little puzzles to cut and build, mind you they come without any instructi ons though..l ol As Art said I added a small strip of mood LED's behind the eagle to give it that cool effect at night. I like it but my wife doesn't, meaning it will have a short life span..lol Would like to see it construct ed  in multiple colors though, I think it would stand out a lot more than it does...An yway Art is right, I do like his new Laser Toy, it works very well indeed, I'm still in the WOW mode.

Cheers
