As a huge fan of non-circular gears, it would be wonderful if instead of only being able to produce elliptica l gears, an arbitrary shape (within reason) could be drawn or imported and then gear teeth assigned to this shape. This would be the master and producing a slave should be very easy. Possible shapes that come to mind include ovoid (egg), heart shaped, pear shaped, etc.

Thanks.

Monafly;

 Thanks for the post. We did have something very similar to what your asking for with a "bobber tool" that you could basically hammer in the shape of your gear following propertie s of involutes, but did however failed once in awhile in our testing process, so was never released. Not sure about the advantage of such a device, but will add it to the wish list just the same.

Thanks
Bob
