I see that hread had to do with large tooth counts in a gt5-2 causing the stl file to look bad. What usage are you wondering about?
If you need a good dxf, the dxf should be good out of GM, but if you need an STL of one, then save a GM project , load it into GT
and it will reextrude to a high resolutio n STL.
It all depends on the method youll use to make it, but Im assuming we're talking either dxf or STL model?

Are there any other "hints" for settings to produce the best output for the GT2-5's?

I read the old post here http://gearotic.com/ESW/FavIcons/index.php?topic=637.0, but wondered what the reccomend ations are these days, or if they have changed since then?

TIA,

Fillets I cant yet do for you. You could modify them in a cad prgram from the dxf's, but generally the tooth profiles follow the spec'ed
curves for them so adding things liek fillets, while handy to some, violate the standard shape expected by many others, so I havent as yet allowed such modificat ion, but I am looking to do that in the future..

No just various combinati ons. Some you support, some you don't. Smiley
The more I build gadgets & CNC equipment and use the tools, software and component s the more I learn.

Hi:

When you create a gear and put it on the screen, there is a box labeled "BackLash", this is a settnig for how far apart you wish the gears to be. Try a .1 as a test in backlash, youll see then a .1 of "looseness" between the gears.
I do recommend some backlash, even if just a small amount. I use .1 to .2mm on mine, so about .003 to .005 or so in standard. This keeps you from having binding trouble when you build your device. ( and allows a bit of tolerance from the building of the gear.).
