Art,

While I was creating my Gearoscop e I actually found the opposite.  With some nice bearings and a gear-train of 20 elliptica l's, this sucker spun like a top when it wasn't mounted to its drive mechanism .

Enjoy ......... ...... https://youtu.be/X1niIkdBEEI

Hello Art,

Thanks for your thoughts and any possible update.

I'm looking to do some crazy things.  BTW - I'm currently working on a project within Gearotic and have a 151 elliptica l Gear-Train.  I'm amazed on how your software is able to simulate all 150+ gears at once, truly amazing.

Cheers,
Mark

Hello Everyone,

First off - Art and Bob, thank you so much for creating and maintaini ng Gearotic.  It is the only secret I tell people how I was able to create my sculpture because everyone should know about this software.

Second - I meant to share this earlier but was too busy preparing to get my sculpture ready.  I have successfu lly entered a Kinetic Sculpture now titled 'A Journey of one's Vision' into ArtPrize 2016 currently being held in Grand Rapids, MI till October 9th.  Here is a link to my entry - http://www.artprize.org/63174

There is also a awesome clock made by Rick Hale http://www.artprize.org/63865 in the competiti on.  Not sure if he is part of this group, but awesome work.

If anyone is near the Grand Rapids area or already have plans on going to ArtPrize, come on by and let's gear it up with some love of our craft.

Again Thanks Art and Bob!!

Cheers,
Mark Brzeszkie wicz

I got it to work  Smiley  It appears you must enable the spokes, which makes sense.

Thanks for the quick reply Art.

I can get the Planetary feature to work in “Tools” window but can not create a proper ring gear in the “Project” window, shows up as a solid cylinder.  Not sure if this was on your everlasti ng todo list or may I have a setting wrong.

Mark

Hello Everyone,

Not sure if it’s my computer or a programmi ng issue plus I’ve notice some capabilit ies are not available from Gearotic 1.  Please use the attached file to verify some issues I’m having and are as follows.

1.   Sequence of Operation – DRIVE GEAR A drives GEAR B/SHAFT 2, GEAR C is attached to SHAFT 2, GEAR C drives GEAR D.
2.    When simulated GEAR C and GEAR D  jump 90 degrees, then only rotates 90 degrees, then jumps 90 degrees over and over and over again.
3.   In Gearotic 1, I was able to set the home/starting position of any gear in a given gear train and if that particula r gear was driven from a shaft of its drive gear, only the gears being driven ahead of that gear would be affected.  Example – If GEAR C’s home position was changed only GEAR C and GEAR D would be modified and GEAR A and GEAR B would remain the same.  Will we be able to modify the home / starting position settings in the future?

If this has already been discussed please point me to the sunshine, much would be appreciat ed.

Cheers,
Mark
